A Quick Orientation of Salt Lake City
Easily explored on foot, navigating your way around Salt Lake City is effortless due to its grid system, with almost all roads running north-south or east-west. The centre of the city and the starting point of the city's road numbers is Temple Square, situated in the downtown district.
Overlooking the downtown area is the State Capitol building, located at the end of State street in the district known as Capitol Hill. The western end of this district is called 'Marmalade Hill', a trendy area perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing coffee break and watch the world go by, while to the north is Wasatch Springs, named after its therapeutic natural springs. Meanwhile, the Great Salt Lake lies to the northwest of the city.
