A Quick Orientation of Salisbury
Salisbury is located in the heart of South Wiltshire in a part of England known for its quaint villages and picturesque way of life. Several historic landmarks and monuments can be found dotted throughout this scenic area. Salisbury's primary tourist draw of Stonehenge is located on the Salisbury Plain about two miles west of neighbouring Amesbury. Many of the city's main monuments and historic buildings are accessible on a day-walking tour departing from the city's centre. The surrounding countryside is abounding in important British historical landmarks such as the Old Sarum Castle, which sits just outside the city limits.
