A Quick Orientation of Minneapolis
The Uptown district is a trendy area of clubs, hip clothing outlets and live music venues interspersed with a scattering of coffee shops, making it one of the best places to visit in the evening. If you want retail therapy, head downtown, where you can also check out 'Restaurant Row'. Dinkytown is a bohemian area popular with students.
Linden Hills is situated between Calhoun and Harriet lakes. The neighbourhood has great restaurants and live music venues. The Riverside district runs alongside the Mississippi River and is home to some of Minneapolis' greatest landmarks and historic sites. This is a really popular destination for tourist and locals alike, and taking a walk along the local heritage trail or snacking at one of the many waterfront eateries makes for a pleasant afternoon. Attractions here include the Mill City Museum and St Anthony Falls. Located south of the downtown area is the residential area of Loring Park. The park itself plays host to many of the city's festivals and it is a peaceful place. The park's beautiful gardens and lake are in close proximity to attractions such as the Guthrie Theater and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
